Decomposed was formed by Ian Vollmer (guitars, vocals), with Chris Ross (bass, vocals) and Shawn Foley (drums) in 1999, and recorded the self titled debut album at Milkboy Recording (voted best in Philly) to critical acclaim. ÒThese guys are one of the best metal bands IÕve ever seen, THEY ROCK!!!Ó says Tommy Conwell (WYSP personality, ex Young Rumblers) DECOMPOSED BREAKS UP, and Chris and Shawn go on to play with national hardcore acts BLACKLISTED, and PUNISHMENT, with Ian and soon to be drummer ARMANDO MIRANDA filling in on respective US and Canadian tours. Meanwhile in 2000 Decomposed released ÒKill YourselfÓ and in 2001 ÒButcher the InnocentÓ with new band members Josh Ross on vocals, Brian Falcone on bass, and Rob Holzer on drums, again to mass approval. But the unexpected occurs once more. DECOMPOSED BREAKS UP AGAIN when drummer Rob leaves only days before a massive show at PhiladelphiaÕs Trocadero Theater. But never discouraged, Decomposed was now RESURRECTED Josh and Ian teamed up with former member Chris Ross, now on rhythm guitar, with 2 former band mates of Kaos Rabbit, drummer Armando Miranda, and bassist Ron Willits to form RESURRECTED in 2003.They continued to play as far as Chicago and St Louis with bands such as Jungle Rot, and Anal Blast. But the lineup could not hold up and in 2005 Resurrected had decomposed, and after nearly 4 and a half years on the shelf fans still wanted more Philly Metal Sickness. So in the summer of 2005 opposite Live 8 Decomposed reunited and has never been hotter! The current lineup consists of Josh Ross vocals, Ian Vollmer guitars, Brian Falcone bass, and Armando Miranda on drums. 2006 saw the release of the bands latest effort and 1st on a record label, ÒTorn From The WombÓ. Released by Worldeater Records at the March Vital Remains/Decomposed Trocadero show, rave reviews, sold out shows, worldwide radio airplay, national tours, and excellent record sales followed, and the band continues to steamroll over all the competition, locally or nationally. Decomposed is geared for global domination. Only Philadelphia can produce a tasteful brand of extreme metal with the finest stage presentation, and musicianship around.
